Police nab four suspected cultists terrorising Ogun community

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested four suspected members of the Aye Confraternity in the Ijoko area of Sango-Ota, bringing relief to residents who had been terrorised by their activities.

The arrested suspects, identified as Olanide Balogun, Olamilekan Oyedele, Adeolu Olayinka, and Abdulganiyu Azeez, were apprehended around 3:00 pm on Wednesday.

According to the spokesperson for the state police command, Omolola Odutola on Thursday, the police received a tip that the suspects had been spotted in specific areas of Ijoko.

“The police immediately swung into action, and the Divisional Police Officer of Sango-Ota led a team to raid the location.

“Upon seeing the police operatives, the suspects scattered in different directions.

“The DPO immediately pursued the criminals, catching up with one of them.

The others were later apprehended with the help of the first suspect, who had been arrested,” Odutola said.

She stated that the suspects’ method of operation involves breaking car windows and attacking innocent road users during traffic jams.Investigational

The suspects will be handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.

This arrest comes after two other suspected cultists, Abiodun Salami and Destiny Adeola, were arrested in August for their alleged involvement in cult-related activities within the same community.
