Police foils robbery, rescues two robbers from public rage

The swift action of law enforcement personnel yesterday thwarted a robbery attempt with two of the robbers rescued from an enraged crowd by the police in Lagos.

The Police Public Relations Officer for the state, Benjamin Hundeyin disclosed this via social media on Wednesday, shedding more light on the incident.

According to Hundeyin’s account, the ordeal unfolded around 11 p.m. when a passerby was accosted by five young men riding a tricycle, who wanted to rob her of her valuable mobile phone. Amid the chaos, three of the assailants managed to evade capture, while two were apprehended by authorities.

Upon receiving reports of the incident, officers from the Bode Thomas Division swung into action, swiftly responding to the call. Their timely intervention not only prevented further harm to two of the alleged robbers but also enabled the rescue of Kehinde Olayinka, aged 22, and Junior Olanrewaju, aged 21, from the clutches of an angry mob.
