Police assure Lagos residents of safety
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adegoke Fayoade, has assured residents of robust security on the Third Mainland Bridge and other major roads.
This assurance was conveyed in a statement by the command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, on Monday in Lagos.
Fayoade emphasized the need for this reassurance following reports about the alleged lack of police presence on the Third Mainland Bridge and other key roads. He expressed concern over claims suggesting police absence or possible collusion with criminals.
The Commissioner urged motorists and residents to remain calm, stating that all critical areas are heavily patrolled. He confirmed that police officers in both patrol cars and on motorcycles are deployed continuously on the Third Mainland Bridge and other strategic locations.
Fayoade encouraged commuters to utilize the visible police presence and to report any suspicious or criminal activities immediately. He provided contact numbers for emergencies: 09168631001, 09168631002, 09168631003, 09168631004, 08065154338, and 08063299264.
He reassured visitors that their security will always be a top priority.
