Two persons have been arrested by the Bauchi Police Command in connection with the murder of 18-year-old Adamu Alkasim, who was killed in the Bayan Gari neighbourhood of Bauchi metropolis.
The suspects have been named as 20-year-old Usman Shehu (also known as Babayaro) and 19-year-old Abdullahi Abubakar (known as Ababa).
The spokesperson for the Bauchi Police Command, SP Ahmed Wakil, confirmed the arrests in a statement issued to journalists in Bauchi.
According to the statement, the suspects were arrested for criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide.
“Shehu and four others allegedly assaulted and killed Alkasim,” Wakil stated.
In response to the report, Commissioner of Police Auwal Musa Muhammad directed a comprehensive investigation, resulting in the arrest of Shehu and Abubakar.
Wakil stated that the suspects will be charged in court once the investigation is complete.
Meanwhile, efforts are underway to locate and apprehend additional suspects who are still at large.
Wakil also urged the public to provide any information regarding the fugitives’ whereabouts to assist with the investigation.
