Police arrest two individuals for drug trafficking in Akwa Ibom

Members of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command have apprehended two individuals, Feziechukwu Okolie and Udeme Daniel, on charges of drug trafficking.

Timfon John, the Public Relations Officer for the command, released a statement on Sunday detailing the arrests. John reported that the suspects were detained following a raid on their residence in the Ring Road-3 area of Uyo on Saturday. During the operation, law enforcement officers recovered a variety of ammunition from the suspects.

John provided further details: “The operation took place on August 31, 2024, when officers searched the suspects’ residence in Ring Road-3. Among the items seized were a Nitro Air rifle with a detachable telescope, a SID Sauer American pistol, a Powerline Japanese pistol, and a Phantom American pistol.”

Additional items recovered included: “a black bag containing two pistol magazines with ten rounds of live 9MM ammunition, one black pistol casing, two pairs of leather gloves, and three wraps of what is suspected to be cannabis sativa.”

John emphasized that the suspects are currently in custody and undergoing a thorough investigation. She assured the public of the command’s dedication to eliminating crime in the state and encouraged residents to provide reliable information to aid in the fight against criminal activities.
