Police arrest two foreigners with fresh human head in Ogun

Ogun state police command on Sunday said it has arrested two ritualists, one Monday Karezu a Benineose, aged 32, and 44-year-old Anagonou Kamelan, a Togolese for being allegedly in possession of unlawful fresh human head.
According to statement from the spokesman of the state police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspects were arrested on 3rd of November 2021, after men of Modus Operandi section of the state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (CIID) got wind about some men coming to an herbalist house with human head which they intended to use for money making ritual.
The police stated that given this information, a DSP, Nurudeen Gafar was said to have swiftly led his team to lay ambush around the house of the herbalist.
The police revealed further that not quite two hours after its detectives had been there, Monday and his partner, Anagonou arrived the house of the herbalist in a motorcycle with a bag containing the human head, and they were promptly arrested.
The statement disclosed that while being interrogated, one of the suspects, Monday Karezu, a national of Benin republic informed the police that he got the head from a place known as Ijale Papa.
The policemen were said to have followed Monday to Ijale Papa to ascertain the truth of his claim only to discover that he was lying.
Further investigation was said have however revealed that Monday Karezu is a resident of Sabo area of Abeokuta, and that the human head with him was that of a woman who died three months ago during childbirth and was buried not too far from his house.
The police was said to have also further discovered during investigation that the suspect had at one time killed his nine-month-old daughter and used her head for the same purpose but succeeded not.
He was also said to have similarly exhumed another corpse, removed the head and used it for money making ritual but failed.
The police said Monday’s latest effort that landed him and his accomplice in trouble was introduced to him by his friend,
Anagonou Kamalen, a Togolese, informed him that he knew of an herbalist who could do original money making ritual for him with human head.
Hence, Monday was said to have exhumed the corpse of the woman buried not too far to his house, cut off the head and in company of his accomplice, took it to the herbalist house where they were apprehended before they could deliver it.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole was said to have ordered a full investigation into the past activities of the suspects with the view to charge them to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
