Police arrest teenager for alleged traffic robbery

Operatives of Police Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have arrested a 19-year-old man, Jason Joseph who allegedly used dangerous weapons to rob in Lagos traffic.
This is contained in a statment posted on Tuesday on RRS’ official Twitter handle monitored by the Newsmen.
It stated that the suspect, a member of a three–man gang that had been operating in Otedola Bridge, Lagos between 9:00p.m. and 5:00a.m, was arrested on Dec.10.
“Jason was arrested when one of his victims spotted him in the area at 5a.m. and alerted RRS team in the area.
“He has repeatedly confessed to the police that he operated with three other suspects who live in Oshodi and operate in Otedola Bridge from 9:00p.m. till dawn,” it stated.
It said the gang which was formed shortly after #EndSARS protests, used dagger and jack knife to rob in traffic and had been involved in many robberies in the area.
The RRS said that the suspect’s arrest coincided with the charge by the RRS Commander, CSP Yinka Egbeyemi to his team covering the area, to arrest all the criminals in that area.
The squad said the suspect was cooperating with it to arrest other members of the gang.
