Police arrest seven hoodlums involved in Kano violent clash

Seven persons were arrested by the Kano State Police Command on Wednesday during a clash involving factional groups of hoodlums at the Rimi Market area of the state.

It was earlier claimed that a policeman was killed but SP Abdullahi Haruna, the State’s Police Public Relations Officer, debunked the claim, confirming that the policeman sustained injuries while in the line of duty.

The PPRO also explained that the policemen detailed to restore normalcy in the area arrested seven suspects involved in the clash.

He stated, “The police officer was injured at the Rimi Market in Kano State while discharging his official duty during a clash by two warring groups of thugs. Seven thugs were arrested during the clash.”

The state Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Gumel, he said, had ordered a discreet investigation into the case, stressing that the suspects would be charged to court after the completion of investigation.
