The suspected Cotonou houseboy killer of Chief Ope Bademosi, a director of Wema Bank and Chairman Credit Switch Technology has been arrested by the Ondo state police command.
It would be recalled that the suspect, Sunday Afobale who was not allowed to speak with journalists while parading him at Ondo police headquarters on Tuesday allegedly stabbed his boss to death in an Estate in Lagos.
The incident occurred at 3A, Onikoyi Road , Parkview Estate in Ikoyi in Lagos on Tuesday October 31, 2018.
The suspect, a 22 year-old boy according to the Ondo state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Femi Joseph was today, 2nd November, 2018 arrested in Ondo town, Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Joseph said, “It would be recalled that three days ago, the cook of Chief Ope Bademosi reportedly stabbed his boss to death and since then police has declared him wanted. But fortunately for us today DPO Fagun, Ondo town, SP Olajide Samuel and his team they were able to track and arrested the suspect along with two other suspects in Ondo town, he’s in our custody and has been given us useful information but as we know that the case happened in Lagos state police command and we have handed him over backed to our men in Lagos state police command where the incident happened.
“We will not want to talk too much about the suspect for now because he’s still giving us useful information in order not to jeopardize our investigation on the case, he has said many things that would be helpful for us, we still want to remain silence on the information he has been given to us and as soon as we completed our investigation here in Ondo state and Lagos state police command, we shall surely let the whole Nigeria know what really transpire and how the badly incident took place.
“His name is Sunday Afobale, from Cotonou, 22 year old boy. We have done the major aspect of the job by arresting him, so whatever happens later we will let you people know”.
However, the suspected killer houseboy cook before he was arrested allegedly left with the victim’s valuables while the corpse of the victim has been evacuated to the mortuary.
