Police apprehended suspected armed robbers in niger state
The Niger State Police Command has arrested three suspected armed robbers, including an ex-convict, thwarting their plans to burgle a provision store in Minna.
The suspects—Jibrin Ndako, 19, of Barikin-Sale; Haruna Abubakar, 20, of Angwan-Kamfani; and Aliyu Abdullahi, 18, of Kpakungu—were apprehended at a hotel along the Eastern Bye-Pass in Minna.
Acting on credible intelligence, police operatives attached to the Tudun-Wada Division raided the hotel, where the suspects were found lodging with dangerous weapons, including three cutlasses and an industrial iron cutter.
The Niger State Police Command spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the arrest in a statement. He disclosed that Jibrin Ndako, an ex-convict recently released from jail for motorcycle theft, confessed to masterminding the plan. “Ndako met his accomplices in Agaie and brought them to Minna to break into a targeted provision store located at Barikin-Sale,” the statement revealed.
The suspects are currently undergoing preliminary investigations and will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further interrogation and prosecution.
