PNC 2019: Wabote,others brainstorm on potentials of local content in oil,gas industry

The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Contents Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Engr. Simbi Wabote, others will discuss on keys in unlocking the industry’s potential through Nigerian Content at PNC 2019.

Hosted by the CWC Group Africa, the Practical Nigerian Content (PNC) 2019 represents the 9th PNC forum which kick-start on 2-5, December 2019, at Yenagoa, Bayelsa.

The theme for this year’s PNC tagged, “Leveraging Local Expertise for Market Growth and Expansion” is the second year from the five years into the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with CWC for hosting and organizing of the event.

Other leading experts scheduled to speak at the Annual Conference include the Honourable Minister of State, Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva; The Executive Governor, Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson; Managing Director of the Nigeria LNG Limited, Mr Tony Attah; Group Managing Director, NNPC, Mallam Mele Kyari among several other local and international speakers.

Engr. Wabote in his keynote address stated that the theme of the event was strategically chosen in view of the huge progress being made with the implementation of the Nigerian Content 10-Year Strategic Roadmap.

According to him, “Many stakeholders are already familiar with our targets and initiatives, which includes growing value retention to 70 per cent, creating 300,000 direct jobs through Nigerian Content activities and retaining $14 billion in-country out of the $20 billion estimated annual industry spend.

“We hope that some discussions at this year’s PNC will review the progress we have made as an industry on some of the targets and reset our focus on key activities that must happen and steps we need to take to meet the lofty targets we have set for ourselves.”
