Plateau: Tyoden commends Minister Tallen’s innovative approach to women development

The Deputy Governor of Plateau State and former Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos, Professor Sonni Tyoden has commended the Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen’s passion for woment development in Nigeria.
Prof Tyoden stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to Minister in Abuja.
Tyoden described the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs as a “critical ministry which deserves special attention.”
He further stated that, “When you handle a woman well, you have a good world; but in our own country, we mishandle gender issues.”
During his visit, he commended the Minister for the innovative approach she has taken in dealing with women and gender based issues sino taking office.
He also praised her for making the unsual step of visiting with her predecessors to learn from their experiences.
While commending the visibility which the Honourable Minister brought to attend to the Office, Prof. Tyoden disclosed that he is simply following the example of Pauline Tallen by also coming to her as his predecessor in the Office of the Deputy-Governor of Plateau to draw experiences from her.
Responding to the encomiums poured on her person and her Office by her visitor, the Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen, thanked Professor Tyoden for the visit and commendation.
Tallen emphasized the significance of men working together with women to accomplish gender mainstreaming at the United Nation’s through the ‘HeforShe’ campaign.
The Minister noted that some Governors have been playing critical roles in anchoring this campaign by ensuring good representation of women in the State’s Executive Councils and other Government Offices.
Dame Tallen however, acknowledged Prof. Tyoden for his contribution to the promotion of women’s rights in Plateau State.
