Members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Plateau State on Tuesday celebrated the victory of Governor Caleb Mutfwang, and other elected representatives, at election petition tribunals.
Mutfwang led the enthusiastic crowd in a prayer and thanksgiving session at the Langfield Event Centre in Rayfield, Jos.
Speaking at the event, he said, “The tribunal’s dismissal of their petition on the grounds of lack of merit, validated my position.
“We want to assured the people of Plateau that we will not disappoint them, and we urge them to have faith in this administration”.
The Governor also extended his appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for maintaining neutrality in all state-related political activities, and described him as a true democrat.
Speaking about unpaid teachers salaries which he inherited, Mutfwang assured the state’s teachers that the government was addressing the issue and urged them to remain patient.
A former governor of the state and elder statesman, Senator Jonah Jang,, expressed gratitude to God for the victory, which he dedicated to God and the people of Plateau State.
Jang who was represented by the former Minister for Water Resources, Mrs Sarah Ochekpe, asserted that the resilience and strength of the PDP structures would remain “steadfast and unbeatable”.
