Permanent secretaries will now be appointed after competency test – Gov. Zulum

The Governor stated this during the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed Secretary to the State Government, three Special Advisers and a Permanent Secretary yesterday.

Zulum said the swearing-in of the appointees was one of the key steps taken to implement the agenda of his administration, adding that the office of the SSG is the engine room for processing all government activities directing that all government businesses be routed through the office of the SSG.

“All communications to my office on the conduct of Government business must be routed through the office of the Secretary to the State Government for necessary guidance, direction and advice”, Zulum said.

He, however, used the opportunity to pay tribute to the late SSG, Usman Jidda Shuwa and commended him posthumously for his services to the state.

The new Secretary to the State Government, Bukar Tijjani appreciated the opportunity and privilege given to them to serve the state and promised to support Governor Zulum realize the Borno he envisions through the twenty-five years development plan and ten years of strategic initiatives.
