PDP Reps Screening: Release my appeal panel result, aspirant begs NASC

Barth Ndubuwah, Port Harcourt

President of Ogoni Youths Federation and Aspirant for the seat of House of Representatives, Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency in Rivers State, on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Comrd Legborsi Yamaabana, has cried out over delay in releasing the result of his appeal ten days after he appeared before the National Assembly Screening Committee Panel to dispel reasons for his disqualification.

According to him, such delay could give an undue advantage to his opponent who has since been cleared and had commenced his consultations in earnest.

Yamaabana queried the rationale behind the delay in releasing such result after ten days of the exercise, when result of the screening proper took only two days.

He called on the National Chairman of PDP, Iyorchia Ayuh, who he said he had earlier petitioned for redress to prevail on the National Assembly Screening Committee to release his appeal result to enable him start consultations with delegates of the forthcoming primaries of the party.

Yamaabana however, vowed to use all legal means to address the situation if consultations fail.

He expressed confidence in the Screening Committee to do the needful by providing a level playing ground for all aspirants for fairness and pure democracy.

The Youth Activist described reasons for his disqualification as flimsy,as he does not occupy any public office to warrant his resignation in the first place,as inputted by the National Assembly Screening Committee.
