Joshua Elekwachi, Abuja

The National Working Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has extended the tenure of the caretaker Committee of the Party in Ebonyi state.

Confirming the extension, the Acting Publicity secretary, Barr. Silas Onu told Nigerian NewsDirect that they are back for another three months of selfless service to the good people of the state in PDP.

According to him the Fred Udeogu led Caretaker Committee of the People’s Democratic Party in Ebonyi State has been given a fresh mandate to lead the Party for another three months.

“We thank the NWC for affirming their confidence in our efforts so far and more importantly, we thank the leaders of the Party in Ebonyi State for finding us worthy to continue serving in this capacity.

“This time, we will have no clog to delay our activities, except for a fearful Governor who has lost sleep since he left the PDP (using lies to shut down our State office) and therefore, we will move with the speed of light to get our party machinery working optimally across board.

“Members are invited to stay focused and follow events and activities as they are announced.

“Finally, it will be wrong not to acknowledge the overwhelming support and encouragement given to us by our teaming members across Ebonyi State, who have remained resolute in their devotion to the People’s Democratic Party and what we stand for. We thank you all and urge you to remain faithful. Together, Ebonyi State will never slip out of our hands.”

The NWC of the party has last year dissolved the state Executive Committee of the party formally led by Barr. Onyekachi Nwebonyi immediately the state Governor, Engr. Dave Umahi jumped ship to APC.

Barr. Nwebonyi who was seen as a Political son of the governor was removed by the NWC in order to give full grip of the party to authentic members of the party and that saw the emergence of a former Commissioner in the state, Chief Fred Udeogu as the state Chairman of the party.
