Oyo: Heavy security as kingmakers elect new Aseyin today

The palace of Aseyin of Iseyin in Oyo State is under heavy security as the kingmakers elect a new monarch today.

The stool became vacant due to the transition of the immedaite past monarch , Oba Salawudeen Abdulganiy Adekunle.

The monarch joined the ancestors on 24 July 2022.

Since the demise of the traditional ruler, the town has yet to have a new king.

Our correspondent learnt that security personnel are currently at the palace to avoid a breakdown of law and order.
