Oyo Assembly approves N50bn loan for Makinde

The Oyo State House of Assembly, has approved 50 billion naira loan for the state government.

This was sequel to a letter forwarded to the state Assembly by Governor seyi Makinde and read on the floor of the state Assembly presided over by the deputy Speaker Hon. Abiodun Fadeyi.

According to the letter, the loan is to be sourced from the First Bank Plc and the repayment mode will be within 48 months which will lapse during the second term of Governor Seyi Makinde.

Deliberating on the letter, the majority leader Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin and Hon. Gabriel Babajide representing Ibadan North II stated that the loan will help in payment of ongoing projects and new infrastructure projects across the state.

Similarly, the State House of Assembly also received the nominee for the position of the Chief Judge of the state.

The name of the nominee Justice Iyabo Yerima was forwarded to the state Assembly by Governor Seyi Makinde and read on the floor of the house by the deputy Speaker Hon. Abiodun Fadeyi who presided over the house.

According to him the state Assembly committee on Judiciary will screen the nominee and the report will be presented on the floor of the house for further consideration.
