Oyetola vows to take development round Osun

… As community lauds Governor for restoring electricity

Governor of Osun, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola has again reiterated the commitment of his administration to take development to every nook and cranny of the state for better living.

The Governor stated this while playing host to the Landlord Association of Cele/Ako community in Ikire who came to thank the Governor for restoring electricity back to their area after many years in darkness.

The Governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Finance, Mr Bola Oyebamiji stated that one of the primary objectives of any responsible government is to ensure the growth and development of the entire state.

Oyetola stated further that despite the harsh economic situation, his government will continue to put smiles on the faces of the people by ensuring that they enjoy the dividends of democracy.

He said the restoration of electricity to Cele/Ako community is part of the resolve of his administration to take growth and development to all the nooks and crannies of the state in the shortest possible time.

According to the governor, “Apart from security, one of the primary reasons why government is in place is to develop the society. As a government, we are ready to take development to every nook and cranny of our state.

“This is our commitment to the people who voted us into office, it is for this reason we are in office and we will continue to do all we can to put smiles on the faces of our people no matter the challenges we face.

Earlier, the obviously elated Chairman of Cele Ako community landlord association, Pastor Raphael Oyewole who led other residents on the visit expressed appreciation to the governor for helping to restore electricity back to their community after many years in darkness.

Pastor Oyewole who also expressed gratitude to the Commissioner for Finance, Mr Bola Oyebamiji for helping to fast track the purchase of the brand new transformer said economic activities which had collapsed in the community have jumped up since the electricity was restored.

He said, “To say we are happy is an understatement, we can’t fully express how happy we are right now. For a community that has been in darkness for many years to now have electricity, you can imagine the feeling.

“We are happy that God has used Governor Oyetola and the Commissioner for Finance, Mr Oyebamiji for us. Businesses that were dead are back and new ones are springing up. This is a matter of promise kept, we are happy and grateful to our Governor”.
