Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola has been described as a prudent administrator who is so passionate about the welfare of the people in the State.

The Orangun of Ila, Oba Abdulwahab Olukayode Oyedotun stated this on Monday when Osun Civic Engagement team led by Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye paid him homage at his Palace after the public Sensitization program on COVID-19, held at the popular market of Ila Orangun.

The monarch expressed his satisfaction with Governor Oyetola-led administration, saying that despite the meagre resources in the state, he has performed tremendously in all the sectors of the state.

He further described Oyetola as a winsome administrator who doesn’t make noise but achieves silently.

In his words, “Governor Oyetola is a God sent to the good people of Osun because, when he emerged as the Governor, I was thinking on how he is going to pilot the affairs of the State but through the help of God,  and his exceptional qualities in financial engineering as well as managerial proficiency, he has used his ingenuity to engender good governance in the state in spite paucity of funds.

“His giant stride in terms of road constructions, revitalization of education, rehabilitation of primary health care centres among other areas can’t be over-emphasized and these he has done, I can boldly say he is giving dividends of democracy to the residents in the State.

Oba Oyedotun further canvassed support for Governor Oyetola’s second term bid noting that, if he has the opportunity of eight years, our dream will surely come to reality as a state.

The monarch also charged Government to intensify the campaign against COVID-19 adding that the pandemic is real and not over yet.

Speaking on behalf of the State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola at Ila Orangun market square, the Special Adviser on Civic Engagement, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye expressed his displeasure over non-compliance of the traders in the market on COVID-19 protocols as they were seen not wearing a facemask, lack of social distancing stressing that such attitude can endanger the lives of the people.

He charged the market men/women to desist from the act stressing that “if we can strictly adhere to the safety measures, Government will not need to expend many resources meant for other sectors such as education, infrastructure and others in tackling the pandemic.”

Oyintiloye, further charged Babalojas and Iyalojas to advise traders on the need to always observe COVID-19 safety rules as well as establishing market task force to enforce strict compliance.

“I want you to know that Coronavirus is real and a lot of people have lost their lives through it. That is why it is important for everyone to take responsibility,” he added.
