Oyetola is committed to attracting development partners  — Osun Budget Commissioner

The Honourable Commissioner for Economic Planning, Budget and Development in Osun State, Prof. Olalekan Yinusa has attributed the continuous support of Development Partners enjoyed by the State to the genuine commitment of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola to the development of Osun beyond rhetoric and a clear demonstration of capacity to manage development programmes for results.

He explained that Oyetola’s administration has demonstrated an uncommon zeal and commitment to improving the lives of residents of the state, which has been backed by his passion for development, transparency and accountability, hence, the continued support and assistance of development partners to the state.

The Commissioner stated this on Tuesday while giving an opening remarks at the Projects and programmes implementation monitoring committee meeting of the state held at the government secretariat.

This meeting is a platform for tracking progress in the implementation of various donor supported projects and programmes in the state which involves agencies of government such as health, education, RUWESA, Primary Healthcare Development Board, and other Agencies of government that enjoy the support of Development Partners.

Speaking further at the meeting sponsored by UNICEF, Prof. Yinusa said Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, through his accountable and transparent style of governance, has made it easy for Development Partners to choose Osun over other States in terms of support for development.

According to him, “Development Partners also want to have something to showcase in terms of results which Osun has always been giving them. This is because we have a Governor who will always be interested in value for money.

“We have a Governor who has a lot of goodwill with Development Partners because of his good reputation with them, he has shown that he is genuinely committed to the overall development of the State. This is what is attracting Development Partners to the state.”

The Commissioner also used the meeting to appeal to Ministries and Extra Ministerial Agencies who secure support from Development Partners to always show technical competence in project delivery and be very transparent in their dealings with the Partners.

He stressed that the State will continue to need the support of Development Partners to positively impact the lives of residents of the State because resources are scarce and Governor Adegboyega Oyetola is really determined to raise the bar of governance of the state to the next level.

The meeting witnessed presentation of achievements by MDAs who received the support of Development Partners.
