The incumbent Governor of Oyo State and the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in the ongoing governorship election in the State, Gboyega Oyetola has expressed deepest satisfaction over the manner at which the election went smoothly.

He also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as well as the security agencies for playing a pivotal role in ensuring a peaceful conduct of the process.

Oyetola, who spoke with newsmen at his residential house in Iragbiji, said that even though there are some few gray areas, the process was very commendable.

He said “I must commend the INEC for a good job. So far so good. BVAS in all the units are working very well, there are a few areas where we have complained that BVAS are not working. I think they’ve attended to that.”

Speaking on the voter turnout, he said, “The turnout is massive. That shows that we’re not going to have voter apathy, but I expect that the turnout will not be less than 70 per cent . So I’m satisfied.

“And I want to commend the security agencies for doing a good job. The whole thing has been very peaceful. You know, I look forward to a credible, transparent election.

While predicting his victory, he said he had worked very hard since he assumed power, noting that he enjoys the confidence of the people

In his words, “I believe I have worked very hard. And the first three years and some months, I have done very well in all areas. I don’t have to start to disappoint people who have actually reposed a lot of confidence, this administration, so they won’t continue to do so.

“And in any case, I did not take that for granted. I went to all the local governments, where I started with the local government and while in office, I visited all of them. So I work very hard. And I believe I will win the election.
