Oyetola avows commitment to impactful economic policies By Abimbola Abatta, Osogbo

Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola has pledged the commitment of his administration to economic strategies that would directly affect the lives of individuals residents in a positive way.

Oyetola said that is why his administration has been investing heavily on capital infrastructures, and as well, been facilitating several social intervention programs for people’s benefits.

The governor disclosed this through his Special Adviser on Civic Engagement, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye during an engagement meeting with the Charcoal Dealers Association of Nigeria, State of Osun Chapter in Osogbo, the state capital.

Oyetola in his remarks at the meeting said, “For the purpose of improving the state economy, our state is being gradually repositioned from its status as a civil service state to an industrial hub through several establishments among which are the Ethanol Bio-Refinery Company and the Dagbolu International Trade Centre which are capable of generating 10,000 jobs respectively.

“Many road networks which have great economic value across the state have been constructed and are being constructed for there to be an appreciable boost in the state commercial activities and which are believed to have concomitant positive impacts on socioeconomic wellbeing of the residents.

“Moreover, the current administration is still creating an enabling environment for businesses and foreign investors, so as to bring development to the state economy.

“The state monthly Food Scheme is yet another social intervention program of our administration with the genuine intent to give succour and relief to the most vulnerable across the state.

“In addition to the foregoing, are other several social intervention programs being executed and facilitated by the current administration to serve as economic stimulus package targeted towards helping the businesses of the teeming population of traders, farmers and more importantly, the vulnerable in the state. This is why we have been judiciously and effectively channeling all social interventions to the most needy in the society.”

Earlier in his remarks, the association’s Chairman, Mr. Ojetokun Taiwo who spoke on behalf of the group, appealed to the government to consider them for more grants, relief packages and empowerments among other value added benefits which would boost their businesses and by extension, strengthen the economic base of the state the more.
