An elder statesman, Engr. Michael Ayantunde Ponle (Micom) has described Governor Adegboyega Oyetola as a silent achiever who does the biddings of his people.

He made this known in an interactive session with the Special Adviser to the Governor on Civic Engagement, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye on Saturday who led the team of Ministry of Information (Civic Engagement) to his country home, Ada, Osun State.

Ponle, popularly known as Micom, noted that Oyetola being an economist, accountant, and master strategist has used his ingenuity to engender good governance in the state.

He maintained that “the education policy reversal by Oyetola is borne out of the reflection of public opinion which in the real sense, did not change the erstwhile intervention of former administration in the education sector but only brought about modifications tailored around the yearnings of the people.

“People are happy about the modifications such as the return of old schools and uniforms because our socio-cultural background is not used to radical change but a systematic and progressive one.

“Our people hold the identity of their old schools in high esteem because they see it as prestige as I’m personally agog that the government has restored Baptist school, my alma mater to its original form. Oyetola only did the biddings of his people in the adjustments done,” he added.

Ponle, the founder of Micom cable company, the first indigenous cable manufacturing plant in Nigeria, equally commended the Oyetola’s dexterous performance in the health, infrastructure, security and other sectors which have made the state habitable for all.

“His intervention in the health sector will forever linger in the mind of Osun people as the upgrading of 322 primary health centres has given the proximate opportunity to every community in the state who had to cover a long distance to access health services before.

“Every community in the state has equally benefited from the road constructions by Oyetola’s administration while security refurbishment to boost the existing peace Osun currently enjoys is not left out through the productive establishment of Amotekun security outfit.

“All the wondrous achievements are all recorded in the face of paucity of funds rocking the state as occasioned by global economic meltdown,” he added.
