Oyetola, a leader with Midas touch — Olowu Kuta
The Olowu of Kuta, Oba Adekunle Oyelude has described Governor Oyetola as a leader who has a Midas touch with which he is doing wonders in every economic sector of the state.
The monarch stated this while underscoring the general governance activities in the state, during a personality interview organized by Osun Civic Engagement led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Civic Engagement, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye at his palace, Kuta.
The king equally described Oyetola as a servant leader who upholds godly virtues as his watchword, saying he’s an helmsman who would not renege on his promises.
In his words, “Despite paucity fund lingering in the state, Oyetola has resuscitated very sector in the state. He has given the health sector facelift with the upgrade of 332 Primary Health Centres across all wards in the state giving the residents a proximate opportunity as well as unhindered access.
“He has turned all areas of the state to construction sites with his umpteenth road constructions while he has set the state economy on the track of massive industrialization through repositioning of commercial and mining activities,” he added.
He equally hinted on the necessity of the Olaiya flyover in the state capital which Oyetola’s administration has commenced its construction, emphasising that it will not reduce the traffic hassles and avert accidents in the area, but also serve as a centre of tourist attraction in the state.
While emphasising that the policies of Oyetola are positively felt at the grassroots, he however urged the residents of the state to rally their support round Oyetola’s administration for the development of the Commonwealth.
Speaking about the security challenges ravaging the country, the traditional ruler said that devolution of power is the only solution to insecurity in Nigeria, while he hinted on regional integration as a potent means of engendering prosperity.
Oba Oyelude advocated for true federalism; an arrangement where powers are shared among the federating units which are coordinated to exert overwhelming influence over their sphere of jurisdiction without any form of usurpation.
“True federalism as a system that promotes devolution of power is the only the institutional framework that arrogates exercisable amount of power and resources to every state to have overbearing influence on the governance activities within its spheres.
“Taming insecurity and engendering social wellbeing are only realizable in Nigeria when the workload of the federal government emanating from the excessive power and influence which it wields, can be assuaged.
“This in addition to promotion of regional integration among states for mutual and cordial socioeconomic and political cooperation which will facilitate a number of developmental indices such as employment, industrialization, peace and stability among others,” he added.
