Oyebanji appoints Chief of Staff, two others 

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has approved the appointment of Mr. Oyeniyi Adebayo, a member of his cabinet, as the Chief of Staff to the Governor.

Adebayo, who currently serves as the Commissioner for Budget, Economic Planning, and Performance Management, will assume the new role on January 2, 2025.

A statement released by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Yinka Oyebode, in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday, stated that “Adebayo is expected to bring his extensive experience in finance, management, and planning to bear in coordinating the activities of the Governor’s Office.”

The statement also announced the appointment of Femi Ajayi as the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning. 

Ajayi, a former Commissioner for the same ministry, is currently the Special Adviser to the Governor on the Independent Project Monitoring Office. He will assume his new role on January 2, 2025, following the ministry’s reversion to its original name.

In addition, the Governor has established the Office of Special Services, which will be headed by Prince Wole Ajakaiye, the current Director General/Special Adviser of the SDGs. This new office will oversee the SDGs, Independent Project Monitoring, and other functions as determined by the Governor.

Furthermore, the Governor has approved the appointment of Barrister Tajudeen Akingbolu as Director-General of the Ekiti State Transport Agency. Akingbolu, a former member of the State House of Assembly, will manage the newly established agency beginning January 2, 2025.

Governor Oyebanji extended his best wishes to the appointees, urging them to justify the trust placed in them by ensuring more effective service delivery.

The Governor’s Special Adviser on Media further highlighted the profile of Oyeniyi Adebayo, noting his educational background, including a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Resources Management, a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ibadan, and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Adebayo’s career spans significant roles in finance, management consulting, and the banking industry.
