Over 1,000 residents benefit from AMAC Chairman palliative distribution

Over 1,000 residents have benefited from the palliative distribution by the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Chairman, Christopher Zakka Maikalangu.
The gesture according to Maikalangu is aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by residents.
Items distributed include 1000 bags of rice, 500 bags of maize, 693 bags of Guinea corn, 120 bags of millets and 103 bags of Garri among others.
The initiative covers all 12 wards within AMAC: City centre, Garki, Kabusa, Gwarinpa, Jiwa, Gui, Karshi,Orozo, Karu, Nyanya and Gwagwa respectively.
In his remarks during the distribution, the Chairman stressed that the distribution, which took place on Tuesday, was made possible by President Ahmed Tinubu’s support for the community.
He said, “This humanitarian gesture is expected to bring relief to many families, cushioning the effects of economic hardship in the country.”
Maikalangu further emphasised that the council remains dedicated to the welfare of its residents, promising continued support and development initiatives.
He encouraged community leaders and stakeholders to collaborate in addressing the needs of the people.
The food items distribution has been widely appreciated by the residents, who expressed gratitude to President Tinubu and Chairman Maikalangu for their kindness and concern. Beneficiaries praised the initiative, stating that it has brought hope and relief to their families.
On his part, Hon.Matthew Danjuma Yare, Councillor Nyanya Ward, AMAC and Speaker AMAC said, “The AMAC Chairman’s efforts demonstrate a commitment to the well-being of his constituents, aligning with the President’s vision for a more supportive and compassionate society.”
Hon. Yare reiterated that the is a demonstration of good leadership and dividends of true democracy to the people as they will continue the chairman and federal government in whatever endeavours.
The distribution ceremony was attended by council officials, community leaders, and representatives of the presidential administration. The event showcased the collective effort to make a positive impact on the lives of citizens.
