Osun women tasked to be pillar of support to one another

Since time immemorial, the uniqueness of women in any given society cannot be overemphasised just as their contributions to nation building cannot be underplayed.
What is, therefore, expected of them in order to live up to these important roles which nature has blessed them with is to continue to show love and support to one another.
The wife of Osun State Governor and President, Ilerioluwa Development Initiatives, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola, stated these ideals recently during a visit to Alajue village in Ede North local Government area of the state.
On Mrs Oyetola’s entourage to the community were the wives of top government functionaries in the state as well as political functionaries .
Mrs Oyetola who was particularly appreciative of the Alajue women folk publicly acknowledged their tremendous love and support to the present administration in the state under the leadership of her husband, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola.
She used the occasion to reel out the many strides of her husband in different sectors such as education, women and youth empowerment, health, agriculture and infrastructure among others which, according to her, have made life more meaningful and worthy of living for the residents of Osun.
The first lady also mentioned that women, the aged, the less privileged and widows have benefitted tremendously from all the various developmental activities, programmes and projects which, she noted are being executed in collaboration with her NGO, IleriOluwa Development initiatives.
Speaking further, she advised them to continue to work as a team for their individual and collective developments as women when the need arises.
Her words: “Like the proverbial broom which works as a team in order to clean well and better, you have all it takes to make useful contributions to your homes which in turn will give birth to a good and better society.
“However, one of the means of achieving this is to always support one another.
“As women, we cannot continue to work in isolation. We need the love and support of one another in all we do and say.
“We are God’s special creatures,” she concluded.
Meanwhile, the First Lady later made cash donations and food items to the widows, the aged and the vulnerable in Alajue village.
