Osun: Unknown gunmen kill APC chairman in Atakunmosa LG

Some suspected gunmen have killed the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Atakunmosa East Local Government of Osun State, Gbenga Ogbara.

Ogbara was shot dead inside his sitting room in Igangan, his hometown, at midnight.

It was learnt that his corpse has been deposited at the Westley Guild Hospital, Ilesa.

It was also gathered that the wife and son of the deceased sustained gunshot wounds and are currently being treated.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Osun Command, Mrs Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident.

She added that men of the force have been deployed to the area.

According to Opalola “The APC Chairman was killed around 12am by some gunmen. Policemen have since been deployed to the area. Investigation is ongoing on the matter.

“The criminals will not escape justice.”
