Osun Tribunal: Police promise adequate security during, after judgement, warn troublemakers

Ahead of delivery of judgment of the Osun State governorship election petition tribunal, the State Police Command, has promised adequate security before, during and beyond the judgment.

It would be recalled that the immediate past Governor Adegboyega Oyetola who was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the July 16 governorship election and his party (APC) filed a suit to challenge the declaration of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke, by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the winner of the election.

The Command, in a statement signed on Thursday, by the Police Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola assured the general public and the good people of the State of adequate security.

According to the statement, “The Police in collaboration with other security agencies in the State have put all necessary security measures in place to deal decisively within the ambit of the law with anyone, group of persons who might attempt to foment trouble.

“Therefore, Osun State Police Command is using this medium to appeal to parents and guardians to warn their children and wards to stay out of trouble/violence. They should not allow themselves to be used by any vicious politicians to cause crisis in the State as the command will not tolerate any kind of thuggery or hooliganism.

“The CP enjoined the good people of the State to go about their lawful daily activities.”
