Osun traditional medicine practitioners avow support for Oyetola

Abimbola Abatta, Osogbo

The National Association of Traditional Medicine Practitioners in the State of Osun has expressed its readiness to support the Oyetola-led administration.

This was made known today at an engagement meeting with the Special Adviser to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola on Civic Engagement, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye at the Centre for Civic Engagement, Osogbo.

The association’s Chairman, Mr. Olatunji Maruf unreservedly appreciated Governor Oyetola for his unrelenting efforts to give the people of Osun the deserved dividend of democracy.

Olatunji extolled the dynamic leadership of Governor Oyetola which is rooted in listening qualities, managerial prowess and financial engineering with which he had massively transformed the State within two years.

“There is no gainsaying the fact that the governance of Oyetola is felt at every nook and cranny of the state for his policies and programs are in tandem with the feelers of the masses.

“Our support for him as an association rooted in the grassroots is resolute, unflinching and unrequited”, he added.

The chairman, on behalf of the Association members, inundated the government on the need to resuscitate the State Traditional Medicine Board, urging the government to give them maximum representation in the board.

He, however, noted that traditional medicine is gaining more prominence in the global market while he appealed to the government to give them necessary supports that will put their profession on the track of prosperity.

In his remarks, the Special Adviser stated that the Oyetola-led administration is committed to giving dividends of democracy to the people of the State which is the rationale behind the ceaseless engagements the government is having with the people of the state.

Oyintiloye reiterated that Government recognizes the impact of the Association in the State in terms of providing Orthodox medications which serve as healings to people’s ailments.

He said, “Osun is the hub of cultural heritage and value for Yorubaland and this is why the Association cannot be undermined in the history of Yorubaland.

“Your donation of herbal medicines for the treatment of COVID-19 as a contribution to national development is an added advantage for the State.”
