By Jeleel Olawale

A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Hon. Bukola Ojuade has described the judgement of the Supreme court as huge shock to the party.

Ojuade made the disclosure while reacting to the Supreme court ruling which affirmed Ademola Adeleke as the valid elected Governor in the July 22, Governorship election.

In his words, ” There is nothing the party can do on the judgement but for democracy to continue, it is either you loose or gain.

” For APC as a party, there is need to restructure the party and move ahead.”

Ojuade noted that the root of the crisis began with candidate selection.

” All candidates should have participated in the primary election of the party instead of imposition by the party leaders and this is one of the problems that caused the party the Governorship seat.”

He added that the party should now reach out to the aggrieved party members on how to restructure the house for future election.

“If all members are in unity, in the next four years, we will take back governance in Osun. We are in opposition party now and we are going to criticize the government in a progressive manner. We are going to provide constructive criticism.

“The rift between former governor Rauf Aregbesola and Adegboyega Oyetola responsible majorly for the situation the party found itself. It is said that where two elephants fight, it is the grass that suffers. This is the consequence of the intra-party crisis that rocked the party.

“It is all about political ideology of the two leaders.

“Every member of the party should be part of decision making and avoid alienation of party members.” Ojuade said.

He alleged that the party collected millions of naira from contestants and after the selection exercise, the aspirants were not refunded their money.

He urged members of the party to ensure that there is need for synergy between party leaders and followers in the interest of the party for the party to recover from the current situation it found itself.
