Osun: Security operatives rescue man from kidnappers

The combined force of security agencies in Osun on Monday have rescued a yet-to-be-identified man who was kidnapped on Sunday night in Osun State.
It should be recalled that gunmen on Sunday night abducted travellers along Omo/Erin-Ijesha road in Ori-Ade Local Government Area of Osun State.
A police source disclosed that the gunmen kidnapped a man and woman and took them to a nearby bush around Ori-Oke Omoh while others were left at the scene.
It was further gathered that the Police, men of Nigerian Airforce, Amotekun corps, Hunters, and Vigilante, who were deployed to the scene, jointly rescued the man from the kidnappers.
The spokesperson of the police in Osun, Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident.
She said the State Commissioner for Police, Wale Olokode on Monday morning had a meeting with the men of Nigerian Airforce, and leaders of Amotekun, Hunters and vigilante in the state, urging them to join the operation to rescue the abducted woman and to stop the further criminal activities in the state.
“The CP has called the men of Nigerian Airforce, and leaders of Amotekun, Hunters and Vigilante to work together to rescue the woman and to put a stop to future kidnapping in the state.
“The order is to rescue the person under the captive of the kidnappers and put a stop to kidnapping in the state.”
Opalola noted that effort is ongoing to rescue the remaining person in the captive of the kidnappers.
