Osun: PDP suspends political activities over Davido son’s death
The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended its activities for the week after David Adeleke, nephew of Governor-elect Ademola Adeleke, lost his son, Ifeanyi.
The Osun PDP caretaker chairman, Adekunle Akindele, in a condolence message to the Adeleke family on Tuesday, described the death of Ifeanyi, son of Davido and Chioma, as a very sad occurrence.
He also directed all party organs and committees to suspend activities in commiseration with the family.
“We mourn the sorrowful exit of our son, Ifeanyi. We pray for the repose of his soul. It is a sad day, but we remain steadfast in our faith in the Lord of the Universe.
“Our condolence goes to Davido, our youth ambassador. We commiserate with our father figure, Dr Deji Adeleke and the entire Adeleke family. We pray the good Lord grant the family the strength to bear this irreparable loss,” the statement concluded.
News had emerged early on Tuesday morning, November 1, 2022, of the death of three-year-old Ifeanyi.
It was gathered that he had drowned in the swimming pool located in his father’s Banana Island residence.
