The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the leadership of the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of staging the defection of her members in the state.
The Party in a statement yesterday by Chief Kola Olabisi, Osun State APC Director of Media and Information said the PDP was using falsehood, subterfuge and deceit to hoodwink the unsuspecting members of the public in their series of stage- managed defection of members of the opposition APC into their sinking, deteriorating and obviously debased party in the state.
“It is a pity that the Osun State chapter of the PDP has resorted to the practice of the deceit games strangely introduced by the ruling government into governance as the government is being run on deceit, stratagem and propaganda.
“The state PDP should stop deceiving Governor Ademola Adeleke and his elder siblings who have been remotely running the affairs of the party and the government from the Ede country home of the Adelekes.
“We have keenly observed that the easiest way by the desperate and conscienceless members and chieftains of the PDP to cash out in Osun State is to plan an imaginary defection of some phoney and non-existing APC members into the PDP.
“Once this stage-managed defection exercise is done, the organisers of the same would start smiling to the bank, subsequently mocking the Adeleke family that it was the only way through which fast and reasonable money could be made from them.
“It is only in Osun State that defections of make-believe APC members into the PDP are carried out without the still or video recording of such events as evidential proofs of such exercises but accompanied by mere composition of names. It is high time that the Osun State PDP stopped the symbiotic running of their government and party with absolute falsehood as the blind ones among the citizenry are capable of hearing the authentic unenviable and perfidious story of the party from the national level to the unit level while the deaf are capable of seeing.
“It is not an overstatement for discerning minds to critically observe and conclude that the PDP in its totality is in an irredeemable ruinous state today which is awaiting imminent extinction. The obviously worried Osun State chapter of the PDP should stop assaulting the sensibility of the right-thinking residents of the state who are gifted with the vision on the need not to leave a smooth-sailing ship for an obvious sinking one which plight would soon be ‘there was a party called the PDP’.
“One wonders what type of an example if not Yahoo Yahoo option the Osun State PDP is setting for the innocent youths in the society by embarking on marathon falsehoods to procure non-existing defections of APC members into their tattered and threadbare ruling party. What the Osun PDP is doing is an indication that all is not well with the ruling party in the state and that the members and chieftains of the ruling party are jittery despite the fact that they are in government dotted with copious missteps and policy somersaults.
“The plight of the flapdoodle Osun PDP with its invention of mendacity for running the affairs of the party in the state can be likened to a deceitful lazy farmer who planted 20 ridges of yam and went to town to call the same 200. It is obvious that when he finishes eating the authentic 20 tubers of yam, he would meet his Waterloo by going hungry as there won’t be the balance of the remaining 180 tubers anywhere.
“As the Governor Adeleke’s administration’s mid-term is knocking in some days time, it would now visibly occur to him that governance is not a tea party but should be a preserve of those who can think outside the box and not self-acclaimed political leaders who will prioritise the construction of gutters when an edifice is on fire.
“The leadership of the Osun State PDP should be in the know of the fact that no amount of make-believe or paper tiger defections of the imaginary APC members into their wobbled and problematic party can convey any special advantage on the ruling party during the forthcoming 2026 elections when it shall be bye-bye to the calamitous PDP administration in the state,” the statement read.
