Osun-Osogbo Festival: State Police assure residents of security

As preparations are put in place for the 2021 Osun-Osogbo festival, Osun State Police Command has assured residents of adequate and watertight security.

The grand finale of the Osun-Osogbo festival will hold on Friday, August 13 at the Osun groove in Osogbo.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Olawale Olokode gave the assurance in a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Yemisi Opalola on Wednesday.

Olokode said the celebration which will play host to tourists alongside series of traditional activities is expected to be celebrated without any threat, harassment or intimidation from any angle.

While urging residents to be security conscious in order to enjoy a safe festival, he advised parents and guardians to caution their wards to be law abiding.

“No one will be allowed to carry arms or any offensive weapon/instrument of violence as the full fledge of the law will fall on anyone found conducting himself or herself in a manner likely to cause the breach of the peace.”

The police boss enjoined citizens to go about their lawful businesses without any fear of insecurity.
