Osun Govt dispels discovery of new COVID-19 palliative warehouse

The Osun State Government on Monday dispelled the discovery of new COVID-19 palliative warehouse in Ede, Ede South Local Government Area of the state.

The State Government reacting to video which had gone viral on Monday morning described the author, an online media, circulating the video as charlatans who aimed at causing crisis in the state.

The viral video obtained by our correspondent, a man was filming a warehouse stocked with food items and also running commentary which he claimed that the COVID-19 warehouse is located in Ede, Osun State. He said the food items were stored in Cocoa house beside Adeleke University, Ede, Osun State.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, Cooperative and Empowerment, Bode Olanipekun, speaking with our correspondent lampooned the video saying, “they should go pack them.”

He explained that, “The claim that new COVID-19 palliative warehouse has been discovered in Osun State is a lie and aimed to distablise the state. The warehouse is empty, they can go and check the wearhouse.”

Similarly, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Oyetola, Ismail Omipidan, in a terse post on his Facebook page, wrote, “Fake Video in circulation! My attention has just been drawn to a fake video on Gistlovergram’s handle claiming that there are food items warehoused by the Osun Government somewhere in Ede. This is false. Kindly ignore it.”
