Osun Govt commiserates with NUJ over demise of member
…As union declares three-day mourning period to honour Tunde Adeyemo

Osun State Government has commiserated with the management the management and staff of the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC) over the demise of Mr Tunde Adeyemo, one of the very prominent actors in Osun’s media space.
Tunde Adeyemo, was the chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Osun State Broadcasting Corporation Chapel before his death.
Adeyemo died on Monday at the Uniosun Teaching Hospital, Osogbo after a brief illness.
A statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Civil Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemode, described late Adeyemo as great and brilliant Journalist.
Egbemode said that the Osun Government is pained by the loss its sons and its finest professionals in the media industry.
According to the statement, “Mr Adeyemo was a great and brilliant journalist, sports enthusiast and analyst, whose works and activities brought positive contributions to the state-owned broadcast outift over the years.
“Before closing his eyes in death at the Osun State University Teaching Hospital Osogbo (formerly LAUTECH Teaching Hospital), Mr Adeyemo was a Chief Reporter in OSBC and Chairman of the OSBC Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Osun Council, where he invested strategic efforts towards the growth of the Chapel.
“The government expresses its condolences to the family of the deceased, the entirety of the journalism family in Osun state and in Nigeria as a whole, and to the management and staff of OSBC; and prays that God grants Mr Adeyemo’s family and friends the fortitude to bear the loss.”
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Osun State Council has declared a three-day mourning period in honour of late chairman of OSBC chapel of the union, Mr Tunde Adeyemo.
A statement by the Chairman of the Union, Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu and Secretary, Comrade Bukola Elufadejin revealed that the union will put all its activities on hold within the period.
The Union noted that late Adeyemo who worked with Osun State Broadcasting Corporation before his death was a committed and dedicated member of the union.
The vacuum he left as the chairman of OSBC chapel of the Union would be very difficult to fill by the state council.
The Union however takes solace in the fact that late Adeyemo lived a fulfilled life and his service in the vineyard of the Lord and humanity cannot be underestimated.
“It is the prayer of the union that God Almighty will grant the family, relatives and NUJ the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
