Osun Governor’s wife harps on how to boost breast milk for babies

Wife of Osun State Governor, Chief Mrs Titilola Adeleke, has tasked nursing mothers to ensure their emotional stability, be free from worries and feed well to enable them produce quality breast milk for their babies.

Mrs Adeleke also advised them to exclusively breastfeed their babies from day one to, at least, six months without water as this guarantees better health and other benefits for the child.

She gave the advice while welcoming the first baby of the year, born at the government hospital, Asubiaro Osogbo, Osun State capital.

Congratulating the visibly elated mother and child as well as its father who were also full of gratitude to God for a successful delivery of the baby girl, Mrs Adeleke enjoined the mother of the new born baby to make exclusive breast feeding, in the first 6 months of the child’s growth, a thing of priority, stressing that, an exclusively breast fed child will not only look sharp and strong but healthy.

“If nursing mothers allow their emotional problems and other worries becloud them, and if they don’t also eat well, their babies would be affected negatively.

“There’s serious need for nursing mothers to eat well, so that they can produce enough milk for the baby.

“It is strongly advised that they feed the babies on demand, not when they feel like, or when they have time.

“Breast milk contains all ingredents necessary for the baies to grow healthily. Breastfeeding is very important as it steadily moulds the babies.”

he said such a baby would not die from avoidable deaths associated with the cnsequences of child malnutrition.

She, however, charged arents to stop cutting the clitoris of their daughters, wrning that the harmful practice causes trauma aong other health problems.

The wife of the Chief of staff to the Governor of Osun state, Dr (Mrs) Balikis Akinleye,wife of the Head of Service, Dr Moji Aina, Commissioner for health, Barrister Jola Akinola, SA to the Governor on health, Mrs Sherifat Akanmu, sun  Algon Chairman’s Wife, Mrs Awotunde,State PDP women leader,Mrs Alice Otunla,  the Iyaloja General i Osun,Mrs Mary Oyebode among others too numerous to mention were on the entourage of the wife of the Governor to welcome the new baby of the year.
