Barely 10 days to the Osun State Governorship election, the Chairman of the Ife-Oye Local Council Development Authority (LCDA), Mr Ganiy Egbetunde, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will not involve in vote-buying in the coming gubernatorial election in the state.
Egbetunde made this known at a rally in Yekemi village in Ife-East Local Government Area in continuation of the re-election campaign of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.
According to him, “APC is a party of principled and law abiding people, who do not believe in vote buying syndrome before getting to power. Vote-buying is allien to our electoral system and is evil.
“APC does not believe in vote-buying but we go to grassroots to campaign, sell our manifestos to people. This is the trademark of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party to buy vote which they exhibited during the last election.
“We don’t need to buy vote before winning election. APC believes in one man, one vote. The performance of APC government in the state is credible and achievements of the Governor in the last three years will speak for him in the July 16 election.
“I am confident that Osun people are not ingrate, they will vote for the Governor massively because he is a man of the people. The people of Ile Ife have been showing signs of love to us in everywhere we go during campaign, they received us well and showed enthusiasm.”
He added, “The villagers give us a worm reception today which an indication that APC is a party love by all and promised to vote Governor Adegboyega Oyetola in the July 16 poll.”
Speaking on palpable fear before, during and after the election, Egbetunde said security agents will ensure that there is no crisis and maintain peace and order, stressing that any individual who tries to forment crisis will be made to face the music of the law.
Also, Hon. Segun Adeyeni, Alh. Yekini Uthman urged the villagers to vote for APC to continue enjoying dividends of democracy in the state.
