…Says party members have made right choice

Osun State Commissioner for Finance, Mr Bola Oyebamiji has congratulated Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for clinching the ticket to represent the Osun All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming July 2022 gubernatorial elections in the state.

The Commissioner spoke shortly after the Governor was declared as the winner of Saturday’s primaries conducted across the State where he emerged as winner by polling 222,169.

Governor Oyetola defeated two other candidates, former Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Mushood Adeoti who polled 12, 921 votes and former Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon. Lasun Yusuf who got 460 votes.

Oyebamiji thanked members of the party in the State for choosing the right candidate to represent the party at the polls come July this year, saying it is gratifying for them to have decided to give the APC flag to a man who has painstakingly strived to move the state forward in his first term.

He congratulated the Governor for winning the first stage of the journey into the second term which is the intra-party elections, while calling on members of the party and residents of the state to remain resolute to re-elect the Governor in the second stage of the contest which is the inter-party elections coming up in July.

According to him, “I warmly congratulate my Governor, the people’s Governor on this victory after members of our great party have casted their votes for him during our party primaries. The landslide victory has affirmed that Governor Oyetola is indeed a progressive man who has done nothing but move the state forward.

“I thank our party members, especially our supporters, for their resolute spirit to cast their votes for Governor Oyetola, I am happy for their comportment, organisation and for allowing peace and tranquility to reign all through the process, this shows their determination to ensure that the people’s Governor is returned into office.

“I must also thank the security operatives for remaining faithful to the main objective which is to supervise, monitor and have a transparent, free, fair and peaceful election.

“Let me end by telling our members as well as the good people of our dear state that we have only crossed the first hurdle, the second hurdle comes up in July which is the inter-party elections, they must maintain the same spirit by trooping out enmasse to vote for a man who is really determined to move the state forward and that is Governor Adegboyega Oyetola,” Oyebamiji stated.
