Osun APC fires back at Gov Adeleke, accuses him of nepotism, corruption

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has launched a scathing attack on Governor Ademola Adeleke, accusing him of nepotism, corruption, and attempting to divert attention from his own misdeeds by leveling frivolous allegations against his predecessor, Adegboyega Oyetola.

This was contained in a speech addressed by Mogaji Kola Olabisi, Director of Media and Information, Osun APC on Sunday

The APC accused Governor Adeleke of running a “secret-cult government” and engaging in corrupt practices, including awarding contracts to his family members and cronies.

The party also alleged that Adeleke’s administration has refused to publish relevant information on the state’s e-procurement portal, contrary to the principles of transparency and accountability.

“We are aware of how the government spent over N40 billion of the local government allocation to fund the Office of the Governor, devoting N11 billion to buy luxury cars for unproductive politicians, renovating the governor’s lodges with over N5 billion, a contract awarded to his son-in-law who came only three times to supervise the project from his base in the United States of America, at a time allocations to key sectors of the economy like Health, Education, Sports, etc, are stunted and unavailable,” the statement read partly.

The APC also accused Adeleke of attempting to tarnish the image of Oyetola and his cabinet members by leveling false allegations against them.

The party maintained that Oyetola’s administration was transparent and accountable, and that all contracts were awarded in line with the Osun State Public Procurement Law.

“Governance should be about truth and due process, not political revenge. If there is proof, take it to court. If not, stop misleading the public. Oyetola’s legacy remains one of responsible leadership, and no amount of politically-motivated accusations will change that,” the statement added.

The APC called on Governor Adeleke to focus on governing the state rather than engaging in petty politics and attempting to divert attention from his own misdeeds.

The party also urged the governor to obey the Court of Appeal judgment that reinstated the APC local government chairmen and councillors in the state.
