Osun: Amotekun begins recruitment next week — Field Commander

The Western Nigeria Security Network popularly known as Amotekun in Osun State is set to begin recruitment exercise next week.

The Field Commander, Comrade Amitolu Shittu, disclosed this on Tuesday, adding that Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has constituted a Board of Amotekun.

Shittu said the board is headed by Retired General Ademola Aderibigbe, noting that it includes some traditional rulers in the state.

He made this known while featuring on a ‘Frank Talk’ radio programme on Rave FM in Osogbo.

According to him, the current operatives of the security network are ad-hoc and that they are about 200, according to Shittu.

While maintaining that the recruitment form is free, the Amotekun Boss asked interested citizens of the state to visit Government House Annexe, Oke-Fia, Osogbo to obtain their forms as from next week.

He further said, “All local government areas and wards in the state will have an Amotekun unit.

“Governor Oyetola has given a marching order that he wants to take people who understand the terrain of Osun.”
