The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, has described the death of Honourable Idowu Korede, former state Commissioner for Environment, as shocking and tragic.
Lawal in a statement issued by Chief Kola Olabisi, the Osun State APC Director of Media, in Osogbo yesterday stated that the sudden death of the APC chieftain who hailed from Ilesa-West Local Government Council Area of the state is one death, too many.
The Acting State APC chairman disclosed that Korede was a progressive politician of note who contributed his own quota to the development of the state.
He recalled that history would not forget the deceased as an enigmatic political figure who played a prominent role during the struggle to emancipate Osun State from the jigsaw of the reactionary elements between 2007 and 2010.
Lawal hinted that death as an inevitable end of all mortals would come at God- appointed time.
In his words: “I received the news of the sudden death of Hon Idowu Korede with disbelief as there was nothing to indicate his ripeness for such.
“In fact, I am yet to get over the shock of the death of one of the foremost politicians in Ilesa in particular and Osun State in general.
“On behalf of all the members and leaders of the APC in Osun State, I am consoling the biological and political families of the late Hon Idowu Korede over the demise of the deceased.
“It is my fervent prayer that God would forgive him his shortcomings and repose his soul.
“May God Almighty grant his immediate family, friends, well-wishers and political associates the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss”, Lawal prayed.
