Osun 2022: INEC extends collection of Permanent Voters Cards

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Osun State, has announced the extension of the collection of Permanent Voters Cards in the state ahead of the July 16 governorship election.

A statement issued on Saturday in Osogbo by INEC Public Affairs Officer, Oluwaseun Osimosu, stated that residents who had earlier registered should visit their registration areas in their wards to collect their PVCs.

Osimosu said there wouldn’t be collection by proxy adding that the exercise would hold between Wednesday, June 22 and Sunday, June 26, within the hours of 9am to 3pm.

According to the statement, “INEC wishes to inform the general public most, especially all eligible voters who are yet to collect their Permanent Voters Cards, that they can now collect their PVCs at the Registration Areas (Wards) from Wednesday 22nd to Sunday 26th June, 2022 between the hours of 9am to 3pm daily.

“Prospective voters are to come with their Registration Slip issued during Registration Exercise in exchange for the Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs).

“The Commission wishes to reiterate that collection by proxy is not allowed, please. PVC Collection is free.

“The public is therefore enjoined to ensure they use this opportunity to collect their PVCs. No PVC, No Voting. INEC making your votes count… Consolidating your democracy,” the statement read.
