Osimhen set to receive €115,000 weekly payday at Galatasaray
Nigerian Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is set to earn a whopping €6 million net salary for the 2024-2025 season after joining Turkish Super League club Galatasaray on a season-long loan from Napoli.
The deal, announced by Galatasaray on Wednesday, means Osimhen will pocket around €115,000 weekly after tax during his one-year stint in Turkey.
Galatasaray confirmed the agreement in an official statement, revealing that Osimhen’s transfer was secured without a fee.
The 24-year-old, who was recently crowned African Footballer of the Year, will don the number 45 jersey for the Turkish club.
“An agreement has been reached with professional footballer Victor James Osimhen and his club SSCN Napoli SPA for the temporary transfer of the player free of charge.
“The football player will be paid a net seasonal salary of 6,000,000 euros for the 2024-2025 season. It is respectfully announced to the public,” the statement read.
Osimhen’s move to Turkey brings an end to a protracted transfer saga involving Chelsea and Saudi club Al Ahli.
After negotiations with Chelsea broke down and the Saudi deal fell through, Osimhen’s future was uncertain.
However, the loan deal with Galatasaray provides a temporary solution, with Napoli retaining an option to extend Osimhen’s contract until 2027.
