The council was inaugurated by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje.

The inauguration ceremony was held in Akure, the state capital, with Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu as Chairman and former Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, as Secretary.
