Ondo govt refutes claims of Akeredolu’s incapacitation

Ondo State Government on Tuesday denied the validity of statements made by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Abdullahi Adamu, revealing that Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is incapacitated.

In a press statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation in the state, Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, the government clarified that the reports regarding the governor’s health status were entirely false.

During a meeting with state chairmen of the party in Abuja, Adamu was reported to have described Akeredolu, who is currently on medical leave, as being in an “extreme incapacity.”

The statement attributed the false claims to desperate politicians seeking to sow discord and propagate mischievous information about the governor and the state.

Ademola-Olateju emphasised that the state party chairman, Ade Adetimehin, who was present at the meeting, had confirmed that the national chairman merely expressed prayers for the swift recovery of the ailing governor.

“The Chairman of the APC in Ondo State, Engineer Ade Adetimehin, who attended the meeting, has debunked the report as untrue and totally disconnected from the statement of the Chairman at the event.

“The National Chairman was indeed excited at the reports on the rate of recovery of the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON, and urged all those present at the meeting to pray for his quick return.

“Mr. Governor is not incapacitated. He will return to his duty as soon as the doctors certify him fully fit to do so.”
