Ondo gets new Deputy Gov, as Aiyedatiwa dissolves cabinet

The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has announced Olayide Owolabi Adelami as his choice for the position of Deputy Governor.

Adelami, who hails from Owo, the hometown of the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, is a former Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly.

The name of the deputy governor nominee has been transmitted to the Ondo State House of Assembly for approval.

The Governor also dissolved yesterday the State Executive Council, with immediate effect.

According to a statement, “All members of the Cabinet are to immediately hand over to the Permanent Secretaries or the most senior administrative officers in their respective offices. “Also, all Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and Special Assistants (SAs) are relieved of their duties, with immediate effect.

“All the affected officials are directed to hand over all government properties in their possession,” The statement read.
