Ondo Commissioner tasks workers on boosting ministry’s IGR

Mr Adegboyega Adefarati, the Ondo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, has said dwindling federal allocations now necessitates thinking outside the box to help the government generate more revenue internally.

Addressing workers in the ministry on Wednesday in Akure shortly after holding prayers to commit the year into the hands of God, Adefarati urged the workforce to support the Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu led administration to move the state forward.

He said that year 2021 was a turbulent one globally and the effect of its attendant economic hardship could better be imagined.

The commissioner commended Akeredolu for his forthrightness and commitment to the welfare of workers by paying salaries and promoting workers as and when due in spite of the unfavorable economic situation.

Adefarati  urged the workers not to take the kind gesture of the governor for granted, but to reciprocate it  by being at their duty posts, doing their jobs as they should, praying as well as supporting the government.

The commissioner assured the workers of his resolve to look outside the system to increase the internally generated revenue of the state.

He craved the cooperation and support of the management and staff of the ministry as he promised to protect their interest and prioritise their welfare.

Also, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr Segun Odusanya, pledged the unalloyed support and loyalty of members of staff of the ministry to the government and the commissioner.

Odusanya expressed his readiness to enforce discipline and reward commitment, stressing that members of staff of the ministry must become models to be emulated by others.
